Mud Dauber attacks!

These aren't the greatest photos, but what's going on is pretty amazing. A Blue Mud Dauber, which I rarely see in non rural areas, grabs a spider right out of his web, stings it and proceeds to munch on it. Click on an image for a larger view.

I have no idea what this guy is? I couldn't tell if he had 6 legs or 8. Found him in some botanical gardens in Hawaii.

This is moments after this guy came out of his pupal stage, his shell is still soft. The spots will appear in a few hours and his shell will darken.
This is the pupal stage of a ladybug. They stay this way for about a week or so.
This is the larval stage of a ladybug. Lots of them around this year
